For spellbinding sojourns by the sea, turn your attention to Harbour View, a stunning reincarnation of an eighteenth-century stone-built net loft. Just yards from the shore, this two-bedroom cottage for four is set in the picturesque fishing village of Portloe on the Roseland Peninsula, where ancient, white-washed cottages scatter the cliffsides and gather around the quaint working harbour. Perched right at the top of the slipway and facing directly out to sea, our gorgeous homestay enjoys a perfect position within this oceanside idyll and boasts floor-to-ceiling windows to frame the magnificent coastal views. Relax in the spacious, light-filled interiors, watching the activity of the harbour and the roll of crystalline waves below the dreamlike serenity of our private paradise. When you're ready to explore, an array of things to see and do await on your doorstep, from the lure of the South West Coast Path just moments away, to the many Roseland highlights within easy reach of Portloe.

Living

Overlooking Portloe's harbour, the open-plan living space showcases custom-made bi-fold doors which open to greet the sea and allow balmy breezes to drift in during the warmer months. Adorned in neutral hues, the walls are decorated with artwork depicting beloved local gems and ocean-inspired scenes, while the exposed wood floors and furnishings add organic detailing. Arranged around a glass-topped coffee table in front of the windows, two large sofas with plump cushions offer somewhere sumptuous to unwind and watch as the tide ebbs and flows beyond the pane. For added comfort, you can also settle in for a luxurious film night with the wall-mounted Smart TV, made for wholesome evenings of togetherness.

Harbour View is also equipped with a washing machine and tumble drier for guest use.

Eating

Adjoining the lounge, the open-plan kitchen and dining area proposes a wonderful space for savouring homemade meals. The fully equipped kitchen features a line of sleek cabinets topped with mottled granite worktops with ample room to prepare platters. With everything you need for flexing culinary creativity, it features inbuilt lighting and array of equipment and Neff appliances. Lending a sense of celebration to mealtimes at home, there is a lovely antique wooden table to one side of the room, hugged by six wood chairs. Seek moments of curated cuisine, popped corks and gathering together with a backdrop of rolling ocean tides.

Sleeping & Bathing

Indulge in lingering lie-ins and enjoy moments soundtracked by the melody of waves from the beautiful master bedroom in Harbour View. A tranquil haven, it promises mesmeric sea views that can be enjoyed from the embrace of the super king Vi-Sprung bed. Savour the softness of the super fine linens and watch fishing boats bobbing in the harbour, or relax on the chaise longue next to the window with your latest read.

The second bedroom is a picture of peacefulness, enswathed in neutral shades with pops of rich colour. Accommodating different sleeping arrangements, the bed can either be made up as a super king or as twin beds - perfect for couples or little ones alike. Dressed in luxurious linens and enveloped in comfortable cushions and throws, it offers moments of pure rest and relaxation from dusk until dawn in this heavenly hideaway by the sea.

Lovely stay in a beautiful setting with lovely views from the accommodations

A wonderful retreat in the most amazing location. The view defies belief and the ambiance is excellent. A truly peaceful place with such a restful energy. The house was also extremely comfortable. een.

Excellent location, lovely second stay in very comfortable accommodation.

The provisions of tea, coffee and milk etc were very much appreciated. And we were thrilled with the champagne. A very comfortable and beautifully situated property.

Absolutely loved the outlook from Harbour View which was very comfortable and in a great location where you could walk straight from your door along the coast path. We were very lucky given the time of year to see both the rising moon in the evening and rising sun in the morning directly in front of us in the lovely view above the cove, where you could see the local fishermen going off in the morning and returning with their day's catch. Loved Harbour View and wish we could have stayed longer.

Lovely retreat and situation. Well provided for. Beautiful views. Very comfortable facility.

We loved staying here. The views are beautiful and the cove felt very safe to swim and kayak in. The hotel opposite has excellent food if you don't fancy cooking, but if you do, we found the kitchen well equipped. The garage was a godsend! I thoroughly recommend this retreat.
